Paul Reeve started producing prints of some of his favourite venues in the city after Covid-19 impacted his photography business.

He has since set up his own creative business selling his hand-drawn pop-art style prints based on the city’s iconic venues from both past and present, as well as other themes relating to the city’s culture.

Paul said: “I started producing prints of Sheffield venues or my favourite venues that have now closed or are still open, so like the Leadmill, Republic and stuff like that. It just became quite popular really, so I set up a company, and from there, it has grown.

“I’ve got a series of prints now called at night, which are based on nightclubs, and I’m also getting quite a few requests for pubs that have closed. I think it’s a bit of a memory thing at the moment for people because they’re not open. It reminds them of better times or the good times to come.”

He added: “I’ve always had an interest in art, but I’ve not had the time to concentrate on it. However, given the circumstances, I’ve started doing it more often. I love art, and I love Pete Mckee, I think he’s amazing. His art is second to none really.”

His latest release, called ‘Park Hill Flats – a pigeon’s view,’ is a colourful take on the iconic Park Hill flats in Sheffield and allows extra customisation to make it unique to you.

Speaking about his plans for the future, Paul said: “I’m going to try and concentrate on all the iconic Sheffield and South Yorkshire places in the future and then what I’m also looking to do is keep churning out the pub prints. Quite a few pubs have asked me to draw them so they can print it onto their beer mats, and there’s a pub in Walkley that are going to put it on their bar taps.”
