City leads way in development

SHEFFIELD has been chosen to appear in a new report designed to demonstrate how UK cities can accelerate their economic development.

The report is the brainchild of British Chambers of Commerce, which has asked the city’s Chamber of Commerce to write a chapter outlining local experiences. Chamber policy and representation manager Helen Rana says the key to the city’s economic development was a combination of successful partnerships and strong leadership.

In recognition of that partnership the Chamber decided to write its chapter in collaboration with Sheffield City Council and regional partners. Regions invited include Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Newcastle, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Glasgow.,
