Sheffield Digital Festival attracts international audiences with more than 30 virtual events

Sheffield Digital Festival is in full swing and and has attracted delegates from around the world including Canada, the Gaza Strip and Bangladesh.

The audience for the event, which runs until Sunday November 22, is growing as comments on its quality is shared across the internet, organisers say.

A headline session this afternoon, Thursday November 19, is the Virtual Tech Expo which lifts the lid on how advanced digital technologies can transform a business.

Several local digital companies including BJSS, Pitch-In and Datatrainer will speak on their areas of expertise, including the Internet of Things, Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Services and Automation.

Delegates from Canada, the Gaza Strip, Bangladesh, Iran and Australia have registered, ensuring that our region’s tech capabilities will be showcased far beyond the UK.

Festival partners Sheffield Digital and Field.Studio are pleased by the response.

“The Festival serves many different purposes; we want people locally to discover the creative and digital industries, and to feel proud of what the region is doing in these fields.

Events like the TechExpo and the amazing work that is happening in Barnsley are doing just this, and it’s so exciting to have them as part of the Festival.”

The festival has also launched a preview of content curated by Field.Studio, which will launch in December once lockdown restrictions are lifted. It

includes a virtual walk-through of the Cutlers Hall, a collection of 3D models and characters created by games design students at The Sheffield College.
