NHS England figures released today show that the number of hospital patients in Sheffield to have died after testing positive for coronavirus remains at 286.

The figure has remained the same for over a week.

A total of 28,940 hospital patients have died in England since the pandemic began, which is an increase of 36 since yesterday.

The number does not include care home deaths or those in any other setting.

Doncaster’s death toll remains at 225, which is the same as yesterday; Barnsley’s remains at 147, which is also the same figure as yesterday but there has been another death in ROtherham, taking the town’s total to 195.Of the 36 deaths announced today, the patients were aged between 53 and 98 and all but two had known health conditions.
