The summer holidays are here – and that means it’s time to find great places to take the family.
We headed out into Sheffield city centre to ask people visiting town what they thought were the best places to take the family during the summer holidays in the city.
Some had one clear suggestion – others had several that they thought were good options for the six week school break. And while some of the ideas involve paying for activities, some of them are absolutely free. Some of them are right here in the city, but some involve travelling a little further afield.
So here are the 10 suggestions that could keep you all occupied for a great family day out that shouldn’t break the bank.

Peter Duce, from Norfolk Park, said: "We're fortunate in that weve got a massive park just over the road from where we live. So Norfolk Park, and it's absolutely brilliant for kiddies. They've got a cafe, which is all right for the kiddies, they've got a nice play area, which is well looked after." Photo: Brian Eyre
Juanita Shepherd, of Wisewood, said: "Get outside, it's the greenest city in Europe.Go for a walk along Loxley Valley bottom, that's what I recommend. It's fantastic, it takes you straight out into the Peak District. You walk past all sorts of different wildlife, there's the river, obviously, it's so relaxing, and even the kids, though they used to complain about being taken on boring walks, even they ask to go on it now."
