Meet the ten-year-old entrepreneur from Sheffield selling NHS charm bracelets to support frontline workers

Since lockdown began, she’s set up her own jewellery-making business from her home in Totley, which is quickly growing in popularity, with orders coming in from as far away as Australia.

And now her enterprise is showing its charitable side, creating special NHS bands to help raise funds to support those working on the frontline in the fight against coronavirus.

Did we mention Grace is just ten years old?

“I’m so proud of her of how hard she’s been working,” said Grace’s mum, Kathryn, aged 34.

“She came across a set of loom bands recently and just started watching YouTube videos to see what she could do with them.”

Kathryn is a jewellery designer herself, and has been running her company, Prints Charming, from home for the past nine years.

“Grace began emulating how I run my business - creating a Facebook page, designing her own order sheers, and responding to all of her enquiries herself,” said Kathryn.

“She’s now making NHS-themed bands, complete with a little rainbow NHS charm.

“She really wanted to do something to show her support for all the key workers, and 50 per cent of her profits are going to support the NHS.”

Grace’s Facebook page - No Gloom, Just Loom - launched two weeks ago, and the Bradway pupil has already had a slew of orders, including two from Australia.

Each loom band takes her around 15 minutes to make, and Grace includes a handwritten note of thanks with each order.

“She’s not been able to see her dad while in lockdown, which has been really tough on them both, but her dad ordered some loom bands from her which made her day,” said Kathryn.

“It’s been a lovely thing for her to focus on, and I’m so proud of her for the money she’s raising for such an important cause.”

Grace’s loom bands cost between £1 and £2.50.

Kathryn added: “I think Grace would love to get to the point, when lockdown is over, that she can walk around and perhaps see someone walking around wearing one of her bracelets.”
