The Masons, on Carson Road in Crookes, has been shut since last year but is now under fresh ownership, having been taken over by new landlords Brandon Hoult and Jamie Tuxford.

Brandon and Jamie, who also run The White Swan in Dronfield, say The Masons will be totally overhauled.

Craft beers, cask ales, premium wines and spirits are promised – and they’ve partnered with pie-makers Pieminister on a revamped food offering.

The pub will return on Friday, February 21, with a celebration starting at 6pm. There will be live music and offers, including the start of ‘Fizz Fridays’, when a large bottle of prosecco will cost £14.95.

“We would love to meet the locals,” Brandon and Jamie wrote on Facebook.

“We're completely changing the pub with a brand new design, and live sports including Sky and BT Sports.”

They added: “We’re also bringing Pieminister to Crookes. We will be launching this shortly after we open, so if you haven't already checked them out be sure to give us a try.”

Pieminister’s classic pies include Kate and Sidney – steak and kidney – as well as Chicken of Aragon, containing chicken, bacon and tarragon, and vegan option Kevin, featuring chestnut mushrooms and quinoa.

The Masons, formerly The Masons Arms, is the latest Crookes pub to be refurbished. Last year The Punch Bowl relaunched having been taken over by Sheffield’s True North Brew Co, which also acquired The Old Grindstone.
