The restaurants which have made the prestigious Michelin Guide for 2024 have been announced, with a number in and around Sheffield making the cut.
The latest inclusions in the culinary bible, celebrating its 50th anniversary in Great Britain and Ireland, were unveiled at a ceremony in Manchester this week.
A total of 1,162 restaurants are included, including nine with three Michelin stars, 27 with two stars and 170 with one star.

5. Juke & Loe at The Milestone
Juke and Loe, a play on the names of brothers Luke and Joe Grayson who founded it, was an instant hit after opening on Sheffield's Ecclesall Road back in 2017. It has proved no less popular since moving in 2022 to The Milestone, a former pub on Green Lane in Kelham Island. As the Michelin Guide states 'they took their quality cooking with them'. The guide adds: "There’s a British heart to the menu of contemporary dishes, which are cooked and prepared with care. The flavours really pack a punch and everything is pleasingly fuss-free." Fischer's at Baslow Hall, in the pretty Peak District village of Baslow, not far from Sheffield, is situated in an Edwardian manor house set within beautiful grounds. The Michelin Guide praises the 'elegant, contemporary style' of the two dining rooms, where it says the menus offer 'original modern dishes with Mediterranean influences'. Photo: Google
The riverside restaurant Stones on Dale Road in Matlock offers 'wonderful' views and equally beguiling food, according to the Michelin Guide. The guide states: "Unfussy, modern British dishes are attractively presented and display the odd Mediterranean touch." Photo: Google
The Blind Bull, in a 12th-century stone-built pub high in the hills of the Peak District, in Little Hucklow, is described in the Michelin Guide as having a 'rustic, cosy feel'. The Guide adds: "The concise menu offers refined classics with a focus on flavour and a great selection for vegetarians. Sit in the conservatory overlooking the moors." It's also cheaper than most of the other Michelin-recommended restaurants in and around Sheffield. Photo: Brian Eyre
