In the footage, recorded on Monday night, six customers can be seen inside Mosborough Pizza & Kebab House on High Street, Mosborough, with four of them sitting down and tucking into their food while the other two place their orders without wearing masks.

The video was shared on Twitter in a post by @SheffLocal which claimed one of the men pictured had relieved himself in the street yards from where he’d been drinking at a nearby pub and said the customers’ behaviour begged the question: “Pandemic? What pandemic?.”

Pubs, restaurants and cafes were allowed to welcome back customers to outdoor spaces from last Monday, April 12, but indoor drinking and dining will not be permitted until lockdown measures are further eased on May 17, at the earliest.

People are still required to wear masks indoors and to maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of Covid.

Responding to the footage, a Mosborough businesswoman speaking on behalf of the takeaway’s owner Emre Gokpinar said Mr Gokpinar ‘holds his hands up’ that the firm got it wrong on this occasion but insisted they were trying their hardest as a business to ensure everyone sticks to the rules.

She said: “It was a busy evening and Emre was out making deliveries when this video was recorded but as soon as he came back and found out what had been going on he immediately made those customers go back outside, reminded his staff of the rules and bounced them off the ceiling.

"Emre is a responsible owner and he does his best to make sure all his customers stick to the rules but on this occasion he holds his hands up and admits they got it wrong.

"The council has provided social distancing markers and posters reminding people of the rules, which have been put in place, and Emre and his staff regularly remind customers of the need for masks and social distancing, for which they’ve had a lot of abuse.

"As business owners we would ask customers to help us by sticking to the rules because we know how important those rules are.”
