1. A warm welcome
"While people may not be physically coming through your front door, act as though they are. An entrance hall is much more than just a corridor, it's an important part of your home. So if coats are on display, then make sure you have just one or two out, even if it means chucking the rest of your coats in the car while you do the viewing. Clear away any clutter like takeaway menus, and put shoes/umbrellas in storage baskets." Photo: Pixabay
2. Lighting
"Think about lighting, both natural and electric. Pull back all curtains/blinds as wide as they go to let in the light and don’t forget to clean your windows. If you have a room that’s naturally dark, put a couple of lamps in there to give it a cosy feel. Change any blown light bulbs." Photo: Pixabay
3. Living room
"Cull your DVDs/books/magazines and then neatly display the ones you keep. Hide kids toys and pet stuff - while we love our own, we don’t really love other people’s - plump cushions and go round straightening rugs and pictures. Switch off the TV during a viewing." Photo: Pixabay
4. Accessorise
"In the world of interiors, this is known as styling. It’s the finishing touches which can make a room go from nice to fantastic. These don’t have to be expensive and can be taken with you when you move. Think things like cushions which can be picked up really cheap online from retailers." Photo: Pixabay
