Sheffield drawing challenge gets entries from Romania and Iran

The Sheffield Society of Architects is so pleased by the response to its Lockdown Drawing Challenge it has extended the deadline until the end of this month.

The competition focuses on drawings or paintings of buildings, spaces and places. It started in lockdown and the SSA says it is open to everyone and all ages and abilities are welcome.

​Sarah Foxwell, from the SSA, said: “While we are slowly easing out of lockdown restrictions, people are still spending a great deal of time inside and dreaming of travelling both simply outside of their homes and further afield.

“We would like to encourage anyone, of any age to join in. We've been receiving some great entries both from Sheffield and as far afield as Romania and Iran!

"There are some art and construction themed prizes up for grabs, so we would love for as many people to get involved as possible.”

To enter a drawing or painting of one of your favourite buildings, spaces or places email it to sheffieldsocietyofarchitects@gmail.com with the name or description of the building or place, your name and your age – feel free to just put over 18 if you are an adult and don't wish to divulge your age!

A selection of the SSA’s favourite images from each age category will feature on its website. Once the entries have been received, the SSA will contact the winners by the end of June 2021.
