Be on trend with items for the new season from Sheffield city centre shops

Here's some of the top trends, straight from the catwalk to city centre shops. Some of the items I have listed below could be worn at the Sheffield City Centre Retail Awards.

Sparkle

It is also time to accept that Christmas is not that far away – and the shops are well and truly ready! The good thing is that preparing for Christmas means getting yourself ready with new outfits.

This lovely sparkly jumper is great because it can easily be dressed up or down, and the gold colour gives it a luxurious feel. The frill gives a feminine touch, and is also a detail that is a big trend of the autumn.

Feathers

If you are feeling bold, this cape is a great way to make a statement. I particularly love the deep blue colour, which makes the piece stand out even more. I’ve seen a lot of capes and shawls in the shops in recent weeks too, they are a great way of adding drama to an otherwise simple outfit - and keeping warm, of course.

During autumn and winter, there’s more to carry, such as fluffy scarves, gloves and hats, so you need a big bag to fit everything in. This one is classic, but with a quirky twist, and will work day and night.

Corduroy

It seems this fashion trend - which first appeared in stores in the 1970s - has made a revival. This jumpsuit is a great way of bringing the material up-to-date, especially as brown and neutral shades are on trend this season too. Pair with a fur jacket for a glamourous and cosy look.

Puffer jackets

Puffer jackets continue to be popular. They were invented in the 1930s for the purpose of keeping warm, and that’s part of the reason why they never seem to go out of style – people will always want to be warm!
