The one-year-old staffi bull terrier was brought to Sheffield RSPCA in December last year as part of a cruelty investigation and his sad past has left him with some mental scars.

However, depite his timidity, this ‘amazing young chap’ is loyal, loving and affectionate when you get to know him and staff at the city animal shelter say they’re already starting to see another side to him.

RSPCA Sheffield spokesman Adam Spencer said: “Crackerjack is an amazing young chap really deserves a fantastic new home, with a loving, patient owner who will help him to build his trust in humans and life after the troubles of his previous circumstances.

“We want to find this lovely boy a family who will love, nurture and adore him. He is a little wary of new people at first, but once he knows you, he will give you his whole heart.

“Crackerjack would be better suited to a home with adults over 16, who will be happy to dedicate time to training our boy. We don`t know if he has spent much time outdoors as he finds simple things like grass, both interesting but also a little scary, and we think he might benefit from the company of another dog, so meet and greets are encouraged.”
