Alicante route to replace Pisa flights

AIRLINE Ryanair is ditching its Doncaster to Pisa service from October.

The airline is replacing it with another route serving Alicante in Spain because bosses feel there will be more demand for that service.

Airport spokesman Steve Adamson said: “Alongside our airline partners, we continue to closely monitor the market place. An airline will look to constantly react to consumer demand and where that demand suggests a different route would work better, the airline would normally react to this, as Ryanair have done.”

South Yorkshire tourism bosses say they are pleased with the addition of the Alicante route.

Richard Jones, chief executive of Yorkshire South Tourism said: “The new route from Alicante will bring additional leisure and business tourists into the Yorkshire South region. We will continue to work with Ryanair at the other end of their routes to grow their flying into Robin Hood Airport.”
