Award for Special Constable who gave up nearly 700 hours to help South Yorkshire Police
William Memmi, aged 24, completed nearly 700 hours of service as a Special Constable in 2016 and was recently promoted to the rank of Special Sergeant.
To thank him for his efforts, he was presented with a Commander’s Commendation for his ‘outstanding commitment’ to South Yorkshire Police and serving the public.

Hide AdPresenting him with his award, Superintendent Bob Chapman said: “William embodies the very best of South Yorkshire Police.
“He has shown outstanding commitment to his role as a Special, working an incredible amount of hours alongside his criminality degree at university.
“As a volunteer, he has given so much time and effort to our force it is only right that we recognise and congratulate him for his excellent work.
“It is a pleasure to award him this commendation today and I know I speak for his colleagues, senior officers and the wider public of South Yorkshire when I say thank you William, for your hard work and for your contributions to policing.”
