Blast threat families return

RESIDENTS in Thrybergh were given the all clear to return to their homes after being evacuated amid fears a gas cylinder could explode.

Up to 100 homes were evacuated when firefighters from Rotherham Station, called to a garage fire on Vale Road on Friday afternoon, discovered there were gas cylinders in the building.

Residents were taken to Herringthorpe Valley Road but were able to return home after the area was made safe on Saturday morning.
