Botox to treat facial spasms

BOTOX is being offered at Rotherham Hospital to help people with facial spasms.

The technique should help people who suffer from facial dystonia, and is being offered in a new clinic within the ophthalmology department.

A hospital spokesman said: “Fortunately these conditions respond very well to very small doses of Botox injected into the affected muscle.

“Such injections can radically improve the quality of life for most people and patients often see dramatic results, having far less frequent and less severe spasms within a couple of days of treatment.”
