Building firm base to create 15 jobs

A construction company is building on its success by opening a base in Sheffield and creating 15 jobs.

Robertson Construction England has launched a recruitment drive to fill the vacancies at its new base at Thorncliffe Business Park, Chapeltown.

The regional team will be tasked with delivering £50 million turnover in its first three years from new contracts across Yorkshire and the East Midlands.

The firm undertakes construction projects of up to £25m across all sectors but has identified particular growth opportunities in the student accommodation and private rented sectors.

Current projects by the Sheffield office include Goldthorpe Primary School at £4.3m, a new Premier Inn at Matlock valued at £2.8m and a £6m student accommodation project at Portobello Street in Sheffield.

Paul Turner, regional managing director, said: “In line with the Robertson regional business model we have been tasked to grow a sustainable business with strong margins, which will ultimately deliver £50m of turnover per year.

“In our first four months we have secured orders totalling £12m with a further £20m in negotiation.

“On the back of this we plan to expand the office space we currently have in the New Year, and we are recruiting across all disciplines as we secure further projects.”

Robertson Construction England has more than a dozen bases nationwide and is part of the Robertson Group, a privately-owned portfolio of individual companies working in infrastructure, support services and construction throughout the UK.
