Business park a success after 300 jobs created

BUSINESS bosses estimate more than 300 jobs have now been created on the site of a former factory site in Doncaster.

Wright Investment took over the former Graziano Transmissions plot at Doncaster’s Balby Carr Bank after the tractor components factory closed – and now say 84 firms are operating from the site.

When the firm initially announced plans for the site, it was estimated 600 jobs would be created on the 24-acre site, which is close to railway lines.

Graziano closed the previous engineering works at the end of 2005, with loss of about 200 jobs.

Wright Investment’s chief executive Colin Wright said: “We are delighted to see that our investment in this site has had such a positive impact by enabling such a large number of smaller businesses to start their entrepreneurial journey in the town.

“In Wright Business Park we recognise an important commercial property investment which has already begun to support the creation of many new jobs in the area.

“We have every confidence in the success of this business park and believe that location combined with competitive rents will continue to make the park a highly attractive site.

“We are seeing strong interest from a number of major occupiers thanks to the business park’s location next to the motorway, within a mile of Junction 3 of the M18.”

Andrea McGeagh, from Bay Finance, one of the 84 companies based at Wright Business Park, said: “The move to Wright Business Park is the best thing we did as a company.

“It has helped our business go from strength to strength.

“Being located just off junction 3 of the M18 makes it easier for people to get to us.

“The offices are ideal for a company of our size and have good security and facilities to hand.”
