Care home receives '100 per cent' satisfactory rating

A Killamarsh care home has achieved 100 per cent satisfaction rating for its standards of care in a national survey.

The Lodge Care home in Bridge Street also achieved 99 per cent rating for quality of life in the home, with a score of 990 points from a possible maximum of 1,000.The survey, which was confidential, was conducted by market research organisation Ipsos MORI for 'Your Care Rating'. The overall performance rating, which is derived from four core themes: staff and care, home comforts, choice and the quality of life being experienced by the respondent.

The survey also found that 95 per cent said they are 'happy' with their life there.The home achieved the maximum possible 100 per cent rating for being safe and secure and the care team scored top marks for 'treating residents with kindness, dignity and respect'.Lodge Care also scored 100 per cent among respondents for the 'quality of food' and 91 per cent for the choices on the menu. It also scored 100 per cent for 'offering activities' for residents to take part in.

Samantha Jacob, regional managing director for Four Seasons Health Care, who run the home, said: "All the care team are delighted that in this independent national survey the residents at The Lodge rated the home so highly.

"The survey outcome corresponds with the responses we have had directly from residents, their relatives and care professionals who are able to give us instant feedback on a day to day basis."

The home is also rated as 'good' by the Care Quality Commission.
