Bus services in the area are also being diverted.

A Stagecoach Yorkshire spokesperson said: “Service 2 is being diverted in both directions. Route being followed is via Lound Side heading toward High Green, using the A61 heading toward Tankersley and Hoyland down Sheffield Road with the route being resumed at Broadcarr Road.”

Bus diversions were also put in place following a collision on Hole House Lane, Stocksbridge.

Stagecoach warned that the diversions were being put in place as a result of the incident at 4.40pm this afternoon, in Stocksbridge, with their 57 and 57A routes affected.

Reports suggest the road is now open, and traffic is moving normally.

A SYP spokesperson said the Stocksbridge crash was ‘not a police matter’.

First said in a statement issued at 5.20pm this evening: “Police have closed Badsley Moor Lane. Services diverted via Doncaster Road and Middle Lane in both directions.”

The road has now re-opened, but traffic is moving very slowly.

SYP has been contacted for more information.
