Sam Newton, the Interim Head of Adult Services for Rotherham Council, said: “This visit provided our social work teams and the people they support with an opportunity to talk directly to the Chief Social Worker about how we deliver our services.

“We discussed the work we are doing to improve services and the care and support we provide for adults.

“It was really inspiring to hear Lyn talk about her priorities and to know that social work has a strong voice in government. She is passionate about the work that we do with adults and the professional support we provide to help people through very challenging times.”

The council’s Vulnerable Persons Team gave a presentation on the work underway in Rotherham to supports adults who do not meet the criteria for existing services or who are unable to engage with statutory services because of their chaotic lifestyles.
