Children get book advice

A SHEFFIELD eye expert is advising pupils to keep reading during the long summer holidays to minimise eye strain when they return to school.

Optometrist Alex Gage, who has practices in Broomhill and Woodseats, said “Some children experience eye strain when they go back to school and start reading again after the summer holidays. In order to minimise this, I advocate that children spend as little as 15 minutes every day reading their favourite book. In addition, it is important for children to have regular eye examinations and the school holidays are an ideal time to fit them in.”
