Yesterday morning (November 12) officers carried out a warrant at a property on Bressingham Road which was believed to be involved in the importing of the controlled drug ‘khat’.

The team recovered over 12 kilos of the drug, valued at around £8,000, and arrested two men at the scene. They have been released under investigation whilst forensic enquiries continue.

“This type of work demonstrates the proactive approach our neighbourhood teams are taking when it comes to disrupting organised crime in the city.

“As a team we are dedicated to tackling serious criminality, including drug supply and violent crime and yesterday’s activity will have an impact.

“It’s important that the public contact us with any information that might help us build up intelligence around individuals or properties in the Burngreave area. You might not see action straight away, but we do listen, and it does help.”
