Booze-fuelled Sheffield man 'covered in excrement racially abused police'

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court, sitting at Sheffield Crown Court, heard how Ismael Mohammed Jama, aged 34, of Langden Street, Sheffield, was found on Spital Hill, Sheffield, asleep in a bush on Wednesday afternoon, March 25.
Joanne Lewis-Crooks, prosecuting, said: “Officers came across Mr Jama and they were conducting routine patrols on Spital Hill and he was asleep in bushes and he was under the influence of alcohol.”

Hide AdShe added Jama was covered in his own excrement, urine and vomit and he became abusive and after his arrest he became racially abusive.
Jama, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to being drunk-and-disorderly.
Hester Russell, defending, said Jama, who spent a night in custody, is sorry and says he does not hold racist views.
District Judge Naomi Campbell sentenced Jama to a six-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £150 compensation.
