Sheffield Magistrates’ Court – sitting at the Sheffield Crown Court building – heard on June 2 how Gary Mason, aged 52, of Woodside Walk, Rotherham, banged on the complainant’s door demanding the return of an extension cable.
District Judge Naomi Redhouse said Mason had been drinking and was banging on the complainant’s door causing damage on May 31 while asking for a cable.

David Lawson said Mason had been asking for the return of an extension cable for some time but he accepts this did not excuse his behaviour and he apologises.
He added Mason and the complainant had fallen out after they had previously supported each other.
District Judge Redhouse sentenced Mason to a 12-month conditional discharge with a six-month restraining order. Mason must also pay £50 compensation.
