Boozed-up Sheffield man pays a heavy price for disorderly behaviour

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on March 19 how Carlos Delgado, aged 21, of Gervase Avenue, Lowedges, attracted the attention of police on West Street after he was seen pushing another male.

Robert Coyne, prosecuting, said police saw Delgado push another male on February 8 and when they approached the defendant they described him as being drunk and shouting.

The defendant resisted the police and continued shouting so he was arrested, according to Mr Coyne.

Delgado pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.

The court heard Delgado is still subject to a suspended prison sentence for possessing a blade in public and for a theft.

Delgado said he had been drunk but the other male was a friend and he had not been fighting.

He was fined £390 and must pay £85 costs and a £32 victim surcharge.
