Car seized after driver blocks entrance to busy Sheffield car park, trapping motorists inside

A car was seized by police and impounded after the driver parked in front of a popular Sheffield city centre car park, trapping motorists inside.

Police were called by frustrated drivers to the blockage which had been caused by the inconsiderate motorist at the NCP Sheffield Hartshead Square car park on Campo Lane.

Sergeant Adam Wood, of the Broomhall neighbourhood policing team, said: “As the backlog of waiting cars built up, and car horns rose like a crescendo, the driver eventually returned.

“Sadly, as if the driver didn't bring enough attention to himself and dozens of angry motorists, the driver was illegally driving otherwise in accordance with a driving licence. No licence, no car!
