Delivery driver called to Sheffield car park and robbed by teenage boys at knifepoint

A delivery driver was robbed at knifepoint by two teenagers at a Sheffield suburb in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

South Yorkshire Police said the incident occurred at around 2.30am on April 7 when the man was called to a carpark in Greenland Court in Darnall.

He was then threatened with a knife by two teenage boys, aged between 14 and 17 years old, who demanded he hand over his money.

They took £300 in cash and a bag of takeaway food before fleeing in the direction of Greenland Court.

The man was thankfully uninjured in the incident.

The police have since launched an investigation into the incident as they appeal for information to locate the suspects.

The boys were described as black and slim. They were both wearing face coverings and dark clothing.

In a statement, the police said: “Now we want to hear from anyone with information that might help our officers in their enquiries. Were you in the area at the time? Did you see or hear anything suspicious? Do you know who might be responsible?”

Those with information can call 101 quoting investigation number 14/55406/21.

Alternatively, the public can stay completely anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers via their website Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling their UK Contact Centre on 0800 555 111.

South Yorkshire Police has previously issued a warning over thieves targeting delivery drivers, following a number of incidents including some in Sheffield.

The force said thieves are prowling the streets looking for parcels to steal as well as vehicles.
