Gunman still at large after shooting in Sheffield

The gunman who opened fire on a major Sheffield road yesterday and left a man with bullet wounds remains at large.

On Friday (January 24), officers rushed to London Road and Bramall Lane at 1pm after a man reportedly suffered suspected gunshot wounds.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

No arrests have yet been made.

South Yorkshire Police said the man was recovering, as detectives continue to piece together the events which led up to the shooting.

It is reported that the victim staggered into a nearby shop asking for help, according to one witness.

An employee working at the Premier store on Bramall Lane said the shooting took place just yards away outside the Anchor Point flats.
