A weekend of tragedy in Sheffield has left friends, family and loved ones reeling from the shock of three deaths.

Earlier today, a motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car on East Bank Road, near Norfolk Park, at around 6.45am.

The collision occurred close to the Esso petrol station and despite the efforts of 999 crews deployed to the scene, the motorcyclist could not be saved.

Yesterday morning, detectives launched a murder probe following a collision on Cricket Inn Road, Wybourn.

A man in his sixties was fatally injured when he was struck by a car which failed to stop at the scene.

A second man who was also hit was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Sheffield man on suspicion of murder.

And on Friday night a man was killed when he was struck by a tram in Sheffield.

The collision occurred to the rear of the IKEA store at Carbrook.

Investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.

None of the men who died have yet been named.

Their families are all being supported by specially trained police officers.

Police officers in Sheffield are also investigating an incident on Westffield Terrace, which runs between West Street and Division Street in the city centre.

A stretch of the road is taped off and under police guard.

A crime scene investigation van was parked there earlier.
