How much light car windows must allow through after police punish Sheffield driver

Police have punished a Sheffield driver for their tinted car window and windscreen.

Officers in the city said they ordered the driver to remove the tints before carrying on with their journey - and issued them with a traffic offence report.

The officers from South Yorkshire Operational Support tweeted: "Front windscreens should allow 75 per cent of light to pass through; front driver/passenger windows 70 per cent.

“As you can see, this does not let in anywhere near that amount!"
