Inquest opens into death of beloved family man Khuram Javed shot dead on Sheffield street

The inquest into the death of the Sheffield father and solicitor who was shot dead near Bramall Lane opened at the Medico-Legal Centre today (April 22).

Khurum Javed, who was 31, died on April 10 after being shot in the cross fire of what is believed to have been a confrontation between two other parties.

Two men aged 21 and 23 were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Opening the inquest, assistant coroner Katie Dickinson said: “Khuram Javed was a 31 year old gentleman born in Sheffield on the 13th February 1990. He was married and lived on Archer Lane, Sheffield. Mr Javed was a Solicitor.

“On the evening of the 10th April 2021, Police Officers attended at Clough Road, Sheffield following reports of a male having been shot there.

"The body of Mr JAVED was found at the location, and after formalities at the scene where Paramedic S. Hewson pronounced him deceased at 10:10pm his body was taken to the Medico Legal Centre, Sheffield.”
