Investigations into 'linked' sex attacks on girl and woman in Sheffield continue

Investigations into sex attacks on a woman and teenage girl in Sheffield are continuing today, with detectives believing them to be linked.

Two incidents were reported to South Yorkshire Police within the space of six hours and officers say they may be linked.

The first was reported at 8.20pm on Sunday, April 4 after a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted on Deerlands Avenue, in Parson Cross.

An unknown man is said to have got out of a car and approached the victim before assaulting her. He then left the scene in the vehicle, believed to be a black BMW.

At around 2am the following day – Monday, April 5 – officers received a report of an incident on Bellhouse Road, Shiregreen.

An unknown man approached a woman in her 20s and made sexual remarks before sexually assaulting her.

Anyone with information should call 101 and quote incident 958 of April 4 or 88 of April 5.
