Judge warns Sheffield drug offender he faces jail if he commits another crime

Sheffield Crown Court heard on December 1 how Amer Nasr, aged 26, of Buckenham Street, Burngreave, Sheffield, was caught with two lots of cannabis after police raided a property on Buckenham Street.
Nassir Mehran, prosecuting, said police officers executed a search warrant and forced their way in and Nasr ran to a neighbouring property and pretended to be asleep before returning.

Hide AdMr Mehran added police searched the property and examined two parked cars outside and seized two lots of cannabis from Nasr valued at £130 and £110.
Police also seized rolls of cash and telephones with text messages using drug terminology, according to Mr Mehran.
Nasr pleaded guilty to possessing the class B drug with intent to supply after the raid on September 24, 2019.
Judge Rachael Harrison said: “He’s running a very close line to going to prison. If he comes back he’s going to prison. There will be no more chances.”

Hide AdShe sentenced Nasr to a two-year community order with a 20-day Rehabilitation Activity Requrement and a two-month curfew.
Judge Harrison told Nasr: “You are on your last chance. If you come back before me, if you do not do the order or commit any other offence, you will go to prison.
"If you and I meet again, you will go to prison for a period of 12 months.”
A further defendant, Ali Abdulkader, aged 21, of Verdon Street, Burngreave, Sheffield, admitted possessing diamorphine with intent to supply and possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply from September 24, 2019, and admitted possessing diamorphine with intent to supply and possessing crack-cocaine with intent to supply from October 4, 2019.

Hide AdTim Gaubert, defending, who attended the hearing via a video-link requested Abulkader’s case be adjourned so he could be present at court for Abulkader’s sentencing.
Judge Harrison adjourned Abulkader’s case until December 15 for sentencing to allow the defendant to be represented in court by Mr Gaubert.
She remanded Abulkader in custody and she indicated that he faces a custodial sentence.
