Jurors in Sheffield begin another day of deliberations as man stands accused of two murders

Gary Allen, aged 47, of Bradbury’s Close, Parkgate, Rotherham, has been on trial at Sheffield Crown Court for seven weeks over the murders of two sex workers two decades apart.
He is accused of killing Alena Grlakova, 38, who disappeared on Boxing Day 2018 and whose body was found four months later.

Hide AdHe is also charged with the murder of Samantha Class, 29, who was killed in Hull in October 1997.
Allen denies both charges.
He was tried over the murder of Ms Class and acquitted in 2000 but is being tried again because of new evidence.
The bodies of both women he is accused of killing were found in water – Ms Class on the banks of the Humber Estuary and Ms Grlakova in a stream in Parkgate, Rotherham.
