Lockdown fine for 50-mile night time trip to Sheffield to view kitchen

Officers from South Yorkshire Police stopped spotted them last night (Saturday, April 18) while they were patrolling the city’s streets and revealed today that they had dished out the fine.
They were were among three fines that officers from the force’s operational support team dished out for contraventions of the new regulations relating to Covid19.

Hide AdA spokesman said two of the fines were two people who had driven from Derby to Sheffield to view a kitchen for sale at 11pm. The other one was given to ‘a lad just out for a drive at 4.30am with no license or insurance’.
The spokesman added: “We are still out there all day and all night and we will continue to target those who cause the most harm on the roads. The message is simple. #StayHomeSaveLives.”
