Police plane heard flying above Sheffield after late-night attempted burglary and car theft

Two men are being hunted by the police this morning for attempting to break into a house and steal a car in a Sheffield street.

The pair struck last night at a house on Marshall Road, Woodseats, but escaped empty handed and drove off from the scene in another car.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We were called yesterday at 10.46pm to reports of an attempted burglary in Marshall Road, Sheffield.

“It is reported that two men wearing face coverings attempted to steal the victim's car, before driving away in a white car in the direction of Bromwich Road.

“An investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police.”

It is believed that a police plane seen above Woodseats last night was deployed following the incident.

Witnesses or anyone with information on those involved should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident 1,050 of June 15 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
