Mystery surrounds Sheffield man’s death after he was hit by his own car

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was hit by his own car in Sheffield and killed.

At approximately 11.45pm on Saturday, May 30, emergency services were called to Viking Lea Drive following reports of a single vehicle collision.

It is understood that a 44-year-old man suffered fatal injuries when his vehicle, a black Range Rover Sport, collided with him on Viking Lea Drive.

The full circumstances of the collision are not yet known, however it is not thought that the vehicle had anyone inside at the time.

The man has today (Tuesday, June 2) been named as Clyn Beaumont, who was known to his friends as Glyn, and his family has released this photograph.

They ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
