Police probe into Sheffield shooting continues after arrests

A police probe into a shooting in Sheffield is continuing today after officers swooped on two homes and made four arrests.

Pre-planned raids were carried out at hones in Kelham Street, Kelham Island and Preston Street, Sharrow, yesterday as part of an investigation into a shooting on Queens Road, Heeley, in which an 18-year-old man was seriously injured earlier this month.

Two men, aged 19 and 48, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and drugs offences yesterday morning.

Two further men, aged 28 and 45, were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences.

Emergency services were called to Queens Road, close to Halfords, at 9.50pm on Thursday, March 18 after reports of a fight taking place.

They found a seriously injured man who had been shot during the violence.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident 1,010 of March 18.
