Police searching Sheffield home where ex-councillor lived during gun attack

Police officers are searching a house in Sheffield today where an ex-councillor lived when his home was shot at last year.

Mohammad Maroof and his family lived at the semi-detached home in Edgedale Road, Nether Edge, when a gunman opened fire at it in April last year.

The front door of the property was shot at in an early hours attack and bullet holes were clearly visible the following morning.

Nobody was injured in the shooting.

Police teams arrived at the house earlier today to search it and the garden.

It has not yet been revealed why but South Yorkshire Police has been approached for details.

The shooting last Easter was one of four incidents linked by detectives.

A 34-year-old man was stabbed in his head on South View Road on Thursday, April 18, and his vehicle windows were smashed.

At around 11.10pm on Monday, April 22, two men, aged 18 and 26, suffered stab wounds during an altercation on Abbeydale Road.

Then, at around 2.50am on Tuesday, April 23, shots were fired at the house in Edgedale Road.

Shortly after, it was reported that windows of a property in South View Road had been smashed.
