Police seek witnesses to sex attack by man last seen at Sheffield station

Detectives investigating an alleged sex attack on a woman by a man she last saw at Sheffield railway station are seeking witnesses.

British Transport Police launched an investigation after a report of a sexual assault on a woman travelling on a train from Manchester Airport to Cleethorpes.

The incident happened at 2pm on Tuesday, January 21 and the man said to have been responsible left the train in Sheffield afterwards.

It is claimed that the man sat next to the woman in carriage B and inappropriately touched her thigh.

The suspect has since been identified, but officers want to speak to anyone who was in the carriage at the time who may have witnessed the incident.

Witnesses to the incident should contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 405040 and quote reference number 285 of January 21.
