South Yorkshire Police said: We had support from long-range CCTV with night image capability and a good number of police officers and PCSOs to focus on local drug dealing. It worked.

“We gained a very good understanding of what is happening and more importantly where.

“Five individuals of interest were stopped and searched. One after a determined foot pursuit. A small quantity of cannabis seized and a person will be going to court for possession of a controlled drug.

“Five motor vehicles stopped and three Covid breach tickets issued.

“Further proactive work is to take place and tonight’s efforts have really helped with future plans.

“Speaking to local community groups its impressive how supportive they are and its clear that residents don't want drug dealing and abuse on the door step. We appreciate this support. We hear you. We are going in again and soon.”

To pass on information about those involved with drugs call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
