Coun Kaltum Rivers, who represents Broomhill and Sharrow Vale on behalf of The Green Party, said the incident took place at the Moor outdoor market this afternoon (12 September).
She posted on Twitter: “I was just told I "shouldn't be in this country" repeatedly by this coward.

Coun Rivers said she was also called a ‘b**** and a crafty migrant’. She had been waiting for her son, who was inside a shop, when the incident took place.
She wrote: “When he saw my son he ran away, the coward only attacks women I guess.
"Thank you for those who were there annoyed about this guy, the stall holder who was supportive.”
The man was a customer in the market, Coun Rivers said.
