Michael Wragg, aged 42, of Bankwood Road, Sheffield, admitted burglary after police found him inside Gents Division barber’s, on Meadowhead, Woodseats, Sheffield, after 4am, on March 25, according to a Sheffield Magistrates’ Court hearing.

His case was committed to Sheffield Crown Court for sentencing on April 16 after District Judge Naomi Redhouse told him she thought he had been exploiting the lockdown by being out at night.

Wragg, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to the burglary on the basis of trespassing because nothing was taken.

Hester Russell, defending, previously said Wragg’s partner has also been self-isolating and Wragg had gone out because he felt claustrophobic.
