South Yorkshire Police said there was an arson incident involving a vehicle in the Richmond Park Croft area of Sheffield.

A police spokesperson said on Sunday, April 19: “We attended an arson in the Richmond Park Croft area at 12.30am after receiving an anonymous call.

“The fire service was in attendance. There are no further details available, but investigations are underway. No one was injured.”

An eyewitness said on Facebook: “We have a car blown up outside mine and my elderly mum was sat in our kitchen before 12am and heard a bang, and pop.

“We went upstairs to see a car on fire, heading for my car and house. We were shook up. Fire was here straight away, police about 10 mins after, was so pleased to see them, we could have been blown up.”
