South Yorkshire man jumped across table during police interview to assault officers

Leon Robinson, of no fixed abode, appeared before Sheffield Crown Court today (Thursday, June 4) after pleading guilty to breach of a restraining order and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
Last month, Robinson, 36, was arrested on suspicion of breaching a restraining order.

Hide AdWhile in custody, he assaulted two police officers, jumping across the table while in interview. One of the officers suffered minor injuries.
Detective Inspector Kate Leake, of South Yorkshire Police, said: “Our officers acted swiftly to arrest Robinson after learning of his breach of a restraining order, which placed specific conditions on him in order to protect a vulnerable victim.
“It is appalling that, once in custody, Robinson then chose to assault two officers in a completely unprovoked attack.”
