Sheffield Magistrates’ Court – sitting at Sheffield Crown Court – heard on April 24 how Ian Barr, 36, of Restover Lodge, at Hellaby, Rotherham, is subject to a Criminal Behaviour Order banning him from entering the Co-op at Kiveton Park.

However, Barr, who has previous convictions, admitted breaching his CRIMBO by simply visiting the store on April 2. He also admitted breaching the order again when he admitted stealing meat from the store on April 22. He also admitted stealing items from a Shell garage on April 17.

Hester Russell, defending, said Barr had been struggling for money after he had been released from prison.

District Judge Naomi Redhouse told Barr she was giving him one last chance by sentencing him to 28 days of custody suspended for 12 months. He must pay a £128 victim surcharge.
