Tragedy as motorcyclist killed in horror Sheffield crash after paramedics battled to save him

The 73-year-old, who has not yet been named, was involved in a collision on Mortimer Road, near to Strines, yesterday afternoon.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, he could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hide AdSouth Yorkshire Police said: “We received a call at 12:23pm on March 30 for reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist on Mortimer Road in Sheffield.“Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the air ambulance service attended but despite their best efforts, the driver, a 73 year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.”
The crash scene was blocked off for a number of hours while crash scene investigation work was carried out but it has since re-opened.
An inquest into the death will be held.
