Cut-price Kell Brook grudgingly compromises over Amir Khan purse
As a world champion, the Sheffield fighter believes he is on a higher status than his domestic nemesis.
Yet he is prepared to swallow his pride and compromise to get the show on the road - and Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn is much more confident of a breakthrough in the negotiations than he was earlier this week.

Hide AdHearn said: “Kell didn’t want to take less than 50/50. It’s been me twisting his arm, saying I don’t think these are the terms that are fair but the terms that could get it made. I’m hopeful but there’s a long way to go. I’d say I’m somewhere between 60/40 and 70/30 [in favour of it getting made].”
Hearn appears willing to offer Khan 60 per cent of the potential £12m Wembley purse to ensure a June 4 super-show happens. But the Bolton fighter might want more.
Khan has not fought since last April, while Brook is super-fit and ready for his IBF defence against Kevin Bizier on March 26.
